KLM to launch new flights to Canada

12 December 2008
KLM has announced that its summer schedule for 2009 will include new flights from Amsterdam to Calgary Canada. And don't forget before you leave Amsterdam to book a hotel, and this is where you'll find the best - Amsterdam Netherlands Hotels.

The airline said that this destination is the biggest market in Canada that is not yet served by KLM flights.

Located in the province of Alberta, Calgary is a popular tourist destination owing to the access it provides to Canada's Rocky mountains.

The city also lies at the heart of the oil and energy industries, making it an important location for business travel.

Peter Hartman, president and chief executive of KLM, said: 'Under the present economic situation, it's even more important to choose destinations that meet a strong demand.

'By introducing Calgary to our network, we further enhance our product offer to our customers, who can now reach this important region in Canada on a direct flight from Amsterdam.'

Mr Hartman went on to say that the new route fits in with KLM's strategy to offer 'the highest possible level of service' on its North American network.

Set to launch on 3 May next year, the new Calgary service will join the 254 weekly direct transatlantic flights operated by KLM and its joint venture partner Northwest Airlines. Plus when you are leaving Amsterdam, at Schipol, they have a wide range of Amsterdam Netherlands Hotels.
